Dr. Daisy N. Owomugasho (PhD) has a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Economics, a Master’s degree in Development Economics and Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences with a bias in Agricultural Economics. She has over 25 years in field expertise in influencing both policy and approach to development across East Africa and beyond.
Dr.Daisy is a development expert, having worked on the ground for The Hunger Project as Regional and Country Director in Uganda for 11 years and as Executive Director at 2 other NGOs, and previously lectured at Makerere University for over 8 years. Daisy is a “boots on the ground”- she is an influential and expert figure in the areas of community-led development, rural development, development economics, policy and planning, and project management.
Dr.Owomugasho has also worked as a consultant for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the African Development Bank, InWent of Germany, Idasa of South Africa, and the International Budget Project. She has undertaken consultancy and training assignments in diverse fields such as Education, Food & Nutrition Security, Enterprise Development, budget tracking, community-led development, fiscal decentralisation, Water and Sanitation, Lobby & Advocacy, etc. Dr. Owomugasho is an experienced researcher, author, and lecturer in development economics, policy and planning, and project management.
